TRE Studies and Manual
The Latin American and Caribbean network, DIRSI, has been undertaking three new Telecom Regulatory Environment (TRE) studies in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, with LIRNE.NET contributing a further study for Uruguay. These studies will contribute to the growing body of TRE studies that the LIRNE centres are producing – also in Africa and Asia.
In addition to applying the TRE methodology in LAC, the DIRSI-TRE team is also using and evaluating a beta version TRE Manual developed by researchers at LIRNEasia. The team has been holding weekly meetings to discuss the Manual’s application in Latin America and to improve it in context of cross-cultural and linguistic usage.
