The Department of Communication Studies at Northeastern University seeks a vibrant and visionary leader with an ability and willingness to guide and enrich the intellectual life of our Department and University. With approximately 600 undergraduate students, the Department of Communication Studies is one of the largest majors in the College of Arts and Sciences. It currently consists of 13 full-time faculty members who apply humanistic, critical-cultural approaches in the areas of media studies, rhetoric and critical theory, and organizational communication.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fair governance and decision-making, excellence in teaching, proven interdisciplinary and translational research, and the ability to achieve and maintain a diverse educational environment. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Communication Studies or related field with documented administrative experience, and a record of achievement that would warrant tenure at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
