Second HazInfo Dissemination Workshop
[19 Nov 07] During the second workshop on “Sharing Knowledge on Disaster Warning: Community-based Last-Mile Warning Systems,” LIRNEasia members will present and analyze the latest outcomes of the HazInfo Project. The event takes place at the Willow Room, India Habitat Centre (IHC), New Delhi; and is jointly organized by LIRNEasia and the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI) .
Professor Rohan Samarajiva, Executive Director of LIRNEasia, will present “Elements of a Community-Based Warning System” and “Roles of Policymakers, Regulators, Private Sector, and Civil Society.”
Nuwan Waidyanatha, HazInfo Project Manager, will present “Determination of Hazard at National Level: Sri Lanka Experience.”
Natasha Udu-gama, HazInfo Project Dissemination Manager, will present “First Responder Action: HazInfo Experience” and “Transmission of Warning to Local Levels: HazInfo Experience.”
