Successful CMI conference on Converging Mobile Media

 

The Center for Communication, Media and Information Technologies (CMI), of the Copenhagen Institute of Technology (CIT), Aalborg University, , held its First International Conference on Converging Mobile Media. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Advanced technology network on Mobile Systems, CTiF Copenhagen, and CMI’s CAMMP Project.

The conference featured presentations by professionals from industry and researchers including presentations on mobile television in countries that have come furthest in the development and market take-up of new applications and services in this field.

at the IGF – Hydrabad, India

Gillwald is a panelist for the first main session on Access: Reaching the Next Billion(s).

LIRNEasia logoLIRNEasia, in collaboration with the Institute of Water Policy, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore and the University of Hong Kong, is organizing a conference entitled “Infrastructure : What works, Why, and How do we know?,” 26-27 February 2009, at the University of Hong Kong.

Sponsored by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the conference will address the following questions: Does work? What kind of works? What kinds don’t work? Why do some forms of work and not others? How do we know whether they work or not? How do we isolate the effects of different political, economic and legal contexts? Are there systematic differences among water, telecommunications, energy and transport infrastructure that necessitate particular regulatory design?

Will Hahn is Gartner’s Principal Analyst, Carrier Operations and Strategies Worldwide, where he is part of the worldwide communications group. He assists with a variety of worldwide and public sectors, including public services in Latin America and Middle East/. He tracks the submarine cable markets worldwide, and he is insight lead for the carrier operations and strategies team. Prior to joining Gartner, Will worked as an inquiry analyst for Northern Business Information in New York City. Before that, he taught ancient-medieval history for 13 years at private preparatory schools in upstate New York.
