CPRsouth3 - Transformation Strategies for Telecom Operators

 

CPR - LogoThe Communication Policy Research South (CPRsouth) conference on “Transformation Strategies for Telecom Operators”, will take place from December 5-7, 2008 in Beijing, China. CPRsouth3 will offer researchers an opportunity to discuss their on ICT and in the South with a -oriented, international audience and obtain useful feedback. A training session on media interaction will also be held for participants. Alongside the conference, tutorial sessions will be held for Young Scholars on the fundamentals of technology, markets, and . The conference is designed to accommodate 21 paper presenters over the course of 2.5 days, and the audience will comprise 70-80 scholars involved in the field of ICT and , broadly defined, including 30 Young Scholars.

Workshop on Transaction Costs and Traceability

 

LIRNEasia logoLIRNEasia will hold a workshop, entitled Transaction Costs and Traceability: Potential for ICTs in the Agricultural Value Chain, to discuss the level implications and business level possibilities of using ICTs to reduce transaction costs in the agricultural value chain as well as to improve traceability and enhance quality of the products sold. The workshop, to be held from 21 - 23 February at the Kandalama Hotel, Kandalama, Sri Lanka, will bring together key stakeholders in the agricultural sector consisting of makers, private and public sector participants and researchers, both in agriculture and ICT. The workshop will discussin in detail the pilot projects conducted by LIRNEasia during 2007.

DIRSI Stakeholders’ Meeting - Trinidad & Tobago

 

DIRSI[4 March 2008] Kim Mallieu of the Regional Dialogue on the Information Society () will facilitate a Stakeholder Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago, and will present and lead discussion on “: Regional Telecommunications and Regulatory Collaborative.” The main objectives of this meeting are:

  • Information dissemination on regional relating to telecommunications and
  • Identification of needs and gaps in telecommunications and regulatory
  • Identification of priorities
  • Recommendations on strategies to meet priority needs.

Mansell Colloquium - Communication and Technology: What’s New?
