Online Resources from Asian Telecommunications Regulators

National regulatory authorities contribute to transparency and accountability of the telecom sector by collecting and disseminating statistical information, as well as information about regulatory rules and processes. Increasingly, NRAs are making such information available via their websites. This page provides a links to Asian regulatory websites and key statistical documents and resources.

The table below illustrates that information provision via websites is a highly uneven practice across the region. Some regulatory websites are rich sources of information for assessing universal service conditions and progress, quality of service, tariffs and overall development of the sector at national level. For an assessment of these NRA websites, see Benchmarking National Telecom Regulatory Authority Websites: A Survey of Websites of Telecommunication Regulators in the Asia-Pacific Region by Chanuka Wattegama, of LIRNEasia.)

Where little information is available, we have included links to Ken Zita’s very informative collection of Telecom Briefs. Due to our own limitations, we were only able to provide information from English language websites. Following the table are further Telecom Briefs by Zita for a few countries that were not included in our survey.
