Whose Summit? Whose Information Society?

 

WSIS logoThe Association for Progressive Communications (APC) has just released Whose Summit? Whose Information Society? Developing countries and civil society at the World Summit on the Information Society written by David Souter, a LIRNE.NET associate and Visiting Fellow with the Media and Communications Department at the London School of Economics. The work draws upon participants’ observations, detailed interviews with forty key actors and case studies of experiences rooted in five developing countries.

LIRNE.NET & Global IS Watch

 

The Global Information Society Watch (GISW) 2007 report will include a chapter “ICT Indicators for Advocacy” by LIRNE.NET researcher and project coordinator Amy Mahan. GISW is a joint initiative of the Association for Progressive Communication (APC) and the Instituto del Tercer Mundo (ITEM) that monitors progress by governments and international organisations on the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society.
