DIRSI[14 - 16 March 2008] Kim Mallieu is presenting on “Network Engineering” at a Seminar for High Court Judges and the Caribbean Competition Commission to be held in Jamaica. The main theme of the event is Telecommunications Competition and Regulatory Matters, with the objective to sensitize the local and regional judiciary to competition and regulatory issues in the telecommunications sector so they are adequately tooled to treat with related matters as the need arises.

DIRSI at 1st Stakeholders meeting on Connect the Caribbean Initiative

DIRSI[30 - 31 January 2008] Kim Mallieu is presenting on “Building Caribbean Capacity for ICT Policy and Regulation” at the 1st Stakeholders meeting on Connect the Caribbean Initiative, to be held in Trinidad and Tobago. The main objective of the meeting is to establish a regional team to contemplate the mobilization of human, financial and technical resources required to bridge major gaps in ICT infrastructure development, enabling a harmonized policy framework and developing relevant and affordable services and applications.

DIRSI at CANTO AGM

DIRSI[28 - 29 January 2008] Kim Mallieu is participating as a Working Group Facilitator for the Caribbean Association of National Telecommunications Organizations (CANTO) Annual General Meeting to be held in Suriname. The five standing working committees of the CANTO Board are expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the Connecting the Caribbean Initiative. These meetings seek to establish the committees’ terms of reference with regard to the Project.
